I've always wondered how people can read more than one book at a time; yet from reading different blogs, I see its pretty common. Me, I have such a small attention span that I can only do one at a time.
This past week I started reading Robert Crais' A FORGOTTEN MAN, but I soon realized I needed something lighter and zanier so I switched to Janet Evanovich's LEAN MEAN THIRTEEN. A couple days later I decided I was out of my dark moment and could go back to Crais' more intense book - but

Jeff came home from the hospital today. Whew, what a stressful week! Now that he's home I need to organize his rehab, doctors visits, and schedule of friends and family who have offered to come drive him to his various appointments.
We're so blessed to have so many wonderful folks helping out -- it's going to give me peace of mind and allow me to get back to work sooner.
Next...time to get back to that manuscript! I think I say that every blog, but I mean it this time. I need to

For those of you who know my husband Jeff - I want to let you know he had a heart attack Monday. No symptoms or problems prior to his attack Monday morning. He started having weird shoulder pains at work, drove home (30 minutes away) and I drove him to the emergency room 10 minutes away. He is 56.
Tuesday he had a cardiac cath.
This morning he had open heart surgery - six bypasses (I don't know what to call that--sextuple??).
He's doing remarkable! Already off

I've recently been in the position of co-chairing a mystery conference. My first thought is "who would I pay to see?" So this year I invited David Morrell and Jerrilyn Farmer to be our guest speaker. I 2008 the guest speakers for the Hardboiled Heroes & Cozy Cats conference will by Tony Hillerman and Jan Burke.
